"Trust us, we're the best", but then they screw up and make things even harder. Logic Pro X is a complete set of creative tools for any musician who wants to write, record, edit, and mix music. But, welcome to the "New Apple", you know, the one that doesn't care about the User Experience that built their legacy. There is nothing published that is easily found that indicates what the minimum requirements are for Logic. I agree that Apple has fallen down on providing OS and hardware compatibility information. UPDATE: OS X El Capitan 10.11. So the answer is "yes", it runs on Big Sur, M1 chips and at least a few generations backward.
